Before you come

Frequently asked questions

What people usually ask before their first visit. Can't find your answer here? Drop us a message.

Do I need any experience?

Not at all. The studio is for complete beginners and seasoned makers alike. There's a short guide by every wheel, and clay is forgiving: you can always squash it and start again.

What should I bring?

Just yourself and clothes you don't mind getting messy. Clay, tools, glazes, paints and aprons are all waiting in the studio.

How do I get into the studio?

Once you've paid for your booking, we'll send you a six-digit access code by email and text. Enter it on the keypad by the door and you're in.

How does the smart lock work?

Every booking gets its own code, valid from five minutes before your session starts until five minutes after it ends. Then it simply stops working.

What if I'm running late?

No problem, your code works for the whole booking. You'll just have less time, as the booking doesn't shift.

Can I cancel my booking?

Yes, in your account, up to 24 hours before the start. We'll refund you the same way you paid. After that we can't offer a refund, but get in touch and we can usually work something out.

What if I can't make my booking?

If you know at least 24 hours in advance, move it to another slot in your account. Otherwise it's forfeited, but drop us a message and we'll try to find you another time.

Can I bring my child?

Yes, children aged 6 and up are welcome with an adult. Count every child who'll be making something as a person in your booking.

How long does firing take?

Your piece first needs to dry (about a week), then it goes into the kiln for a bisque firing, and once more after glazing. Allow two to three weeks in total.

When can I pick up my finished piece?

Once we let you know it's been fired, usually within 14 days of glazing. Collect it during opening hours, or during your next booking.

Is the studio self-service?

Yes. Come at your time, let yourself in with your code, get creative and tidy up after yourself. Nobody's watching over you or interrupting.

Is there an instructor in the studio?

Not during regular bookings, that's the self-service part. Instructors only run workshops, which you sign up for separately.

How many people can come at once?

There are 2 spots at the wheel, 4 at the modelling table and 4 at the decorating table. Enter the number of people when booking and the system will make sure there's room for everyone.
